About our expert instructor:
Kathy Knizner, RPA, CCIM is the Vice President, Regional Asset Manager for Duke Realty's Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Regions, and is responsible for the operational performance of the company's industrial and suburban office assets in Washington, D.C.; Baltimore, MD; Raleigh, NC; New Jersey; and Pennsylvania.
Her focus is to drive individual and team performance and asset value through strategic and tactical leadership, which fosters alignment and collaborative partnering in a way that recognizes and values individual diversity so that ownership objectives are achieved.
Kathy has great experience and interest in the psycho-social component to work place interactions and related affects to the work place environment, teams, and performance. In 2008, Duke Realty began construction of a 1.7M SF building for the Government that would significantly impact Mark Center and the west Alexandria sub-market. An outside consultant, led by John Grinnell, was brought in to lead a 3 year partnering process with multiple public and private stakeholders to facilitate completion of the project and to create the legacy envisioned by the Government. Through participating in this process, Kathy was introduced to transformational leadership and incorporated the principals into her leadership. She went on to complete Grinnell’s Jumpstart program in 2010 and Executive Leadership program in 2012- 2013.
Kathy has over 25 years of experience in commercial real estate and has enjoyed working with various companies including Manulife, Akridge, Lowe Enterprises and The Mark Winkler Company. Kathy is a member of AOBA’s Board of Directors and is the past chair of the TOBY and Va. PAC committees. She was also on the GTBID Board of Directors, 1997 – 2006, serving as President her last two years.
