Talent Pipeline Connections: Accessing Military & Veteran Talent
The AOBA Educational Foundation invites you to a conversation on the Virginia Values Veterans (V3) program, which can help AOBA members tap into an extremely fruitful talent pipeline: Veterans.
The V3 Program is a FREE state certification program for employers. The V3 Program not only aims to educate and train companies on why it is a good business decision to recruit, hire, train, and retain Veterans, but also to help those committed companies meet their hiring goals. V3 Certified employers have access to our sister-programs under the Virginia Department of Veterans Services to provide OJT/Apprenticeship programs, fellowships, free certifications, awards, direct contact with Veteran job seekers, and more.
An additional benefit for small businesses is the V3 Employment Grant. V3 Certified employers with no more than 300 employees may qualify for up to $10,000 in grants, with $1,000 being awarded per eligible Veteran hired
Michael Glascock, V3 Northern Virginia Regional Program Manager, will provide an overview of the program and how your company can become certified as a veteran friendly employer in the state of Virginia. The webinar will examine ways AOBA members can connect directly and collectively with this exciting program. A summary of the V3 program is available online.
Jasmine Scott, Assistant Program Manager for the Virginia Women Veterans Program, will outline the efforts of the Department of Veterans Services to connect women veterans with great careers in STEM and construction related fields.
Becoming “V3 certified” is a relatively easy process. It involves the completion of a simple enrollment form and a one-hour online training program on best practices for hiring and retaining veteran talent and working with V3.
