Join us for Emergency Preparedness Month with four discussions focusing on emergency preparedness within the DMV region. These discussions begin on Thursday, September 10th and run every Thursday until October 1st at 10:00am. The four discussions will be led my Emergency Preparedness Committee Members who will share how they responded to the life safety issues of the pandemic and civil unrest. Then we have a facilitated discussion with other members to explore other solutions to the challenges we are all experiencing. 

  • Thursday, September 10th: Masks + Social Distancing
  • Thursday, September 17th: Emergency Preparedness Communications 
  • Thursday, September 24th: Past Civil Unrest
  • Thursday, October 1st: Fire Prevention and Drills 

On Thursday, September 17th, we will discuss Emergency Preparedness Communications. There is more pressure on Property Managers to communicate rapidly and clearly than ever before. Attend this discussion to learn how Emergency Preparedness Committee Members communicated with internal and external stakeholders throughout this pandemic. We will discuss:

  • The tools to communicate with tenants 
  • Communication strategies to keep teams engaged virtually
  • Proactive tips to creating accountability when staff in this new world
  • How to keep the owner engaged and updated 
  • The tone and frequency of communications within a constantly changing environment 
  • Communicating with vendors and compliance with building protocols 
  • And, the future of building communications
