Join us for this two-part series covering everything you want to know about the Virginia Residential Landlord Tenant Act (VRLTA). Recent VRLTA changes that took place within the last 12 months will be discussed in both sessions. Part one will focus on a general overview and part two will go into more operational detail. Choose one session or both depending on how much new information or refresh you would like!

Part One 5/25/23: VRLTA  – The Foundation (Beginner/Intermediate)

Learning your way around the property management legal landscape starts with firm understanding of the glue that holds it all together: the Virginia Residential Landlord Tenant Act.

 

Part Two 6/14/23: VRLTA – Process Considerations (Advanced)

A firm understanding of the elements outlined in Part 1 are required to understand Part 2.  Do not take Part 2 until you have either Part 1 or have a firm understanding of the foundations of the act.

Now that you have a firm understanding of foundations of the Act it’s time to build off of that and get into operations.  The key to smooth operations is understanding language and putting them in real life operational context.  That’s why this session will focus on concepts such as:

  • Lease Breach Issues and the Proper use of Notices
  • You have received a notice or sent a notice.  What next?
  • Lease Terminations / Renewals and Potential Holdover Situations
  • Because you read it on Paper doesn’t mean it will go that way in court.
  • Situational Requirements
  • All of the other things that could go wrong.

Please Note:  All invoices, regardless of method of payment must be paid before the class! Zoom links will not be sent to those who have not paid.  

Zoom link will be sent to registered attendees 48 hours prior to each session.  Each attendee must be registered individually with an individual email address in order to receive access to the Zoom Webinar and receive credit for attendance. Multiple attendees may not be registered under the same email address and attendees cannot share links. Each registered attendee will receive their unique webinar registration link, via email, 2 days prior to the class
