Join AOBA and MMHA on Wednesday, October 1 for a joint webinar with the Maryland Department of Labor to discuss Maryland’s Debt Collection Licensing Requirements, as they relate to property management companies.

A recent letter of advice from the Maryland Attorney General’s Office interprets routine rent collection, including past-due notices and failure-to-pay-rent actions, as activities that may require a debt collection license under the Maryland Collection Agency Licensing Act. This represents a major shift from long-standing industry practice and has significant implications for property managers, owners, and housing providers across the state. In response, AOBA and MMHA are hosting a webinar with the Maryland Department of Labor to provide clarity on the licensing process and requirements for property management companies.
