A Looming Crisis - The Residual Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Rent-Controlled and Market Rate Affordable Rental Housing in the District of Columbia
During this virtual press conference, open to members of the press, lawmakers and their staffs, and AOBA members, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Brian Gordon will provide an overview of AOBA's recently released report on the immense distress within the District's rent controlled, market-rate affordable, and dedicated affordable rental housing that serves lower-income residents.
This event will include a brief overview of the report's findings and recommended actions to address this dire situation. Zachary Huke, Executive Vice President and COO of CIH Properties, will then describe how massive rent delinquencies are negatively affecting their portfolio and by extension the services they can provide their residents, followed by Q&A.
