Help Fight Massive Gas & Electric Surcharge

Headlines ,

AOBA staff and members have testified in opposition to Maryland state legislation that would double the maximum surcharge that could be charged to customers of gas companies under the STRIDE infrastructure replacement program. SB 510 and HB 546 would also authorize the introduction of arbitrary surcharge amounts for customers of electric companies. When fully phased-in, these charges would increase annual gas and electric charges to non-residential customers in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties by $26 million annually.

We encourage you to contact Senator Joanne Benson and Senator Brian Feldman, urging them to oppose SB 510.
