County Looking to Partner in Reduced Tipping Fees

The Prince George’s County Department of the Environment is offering AOBA members the opportunity to pay reduced tipping fees in exchange for directing solid waste to County landfill facilities. The County is looking for ways to increase the amount of solid waste that is directed to the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill, which would help generate additional tipping fees from refuse generated in the County.

In exchange for signing a contract to exclusively direct solid waste to that facility, the County would offer a significant reduction in tipping fees. Joint Base Andrews has already signed such an agreement, reducing its tipping fees from $59 to $45 per ton. The County is interested in reaching out to AOBA members and their refuse haulers to provide financial savings.
