AOBA’s 2017 Lobby Day at the Virginia General Assembly session drew a record number of participants.Nearly 60 industry members traveled to the Capitol in Richmond to carry AOBA’s message and advocate for legislation affecting commercial property owner/managers and multifamily housing providers.
The increasingly popular program is designed to be both educational and fun for members, but also advance the industry’s advocacy agenda. Participating members had the opportunity to view the legislative process in action through the House and Senate session and build relationships with elected officials overseeing issues of importance to our industry. Members also attended meetings with Delegates and Senators to educate them on initiatives supported by AOBA in the 2017 legislative session. The impact made on legislators when they hear directly from impacted stakeholders can not be understated; AOBA’s strong showing at the General Assembly this year left a significant impression, providing a notable boost to AOBA's advocacy program.
