Aaron Kraut

Aaron serves as Vice President of Government Affairs for AOBA in Maryland. In this role, he represents the organization and its members before the governing bodies and local government agencies throughout Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties. He additionally represents the commercial and multifamily real estate industry as AOBA’s chief lobbyist before the Maryland General Assembly and various state regulatory entities.

Aaron brings more than a decade of experience in Montgomery County government and politics to the position. Most recently, he served as Chief of Staff to Montgomery County Councilmember Dawn Luedtke, where he was involved in the development of legislation, policy, and budgets for a county of more than 1 million residents, with a focus on housing, land use, and economic development. Previously, he served as a Senior Legislative Aide to another Montgomery County Councilmember for five years.

Prior to his local government service, Aaron worked as a reporter covering state and local policy for news outlets including Bethesda Beat, Bethesda Now and The Gazette. A Montgomery County native and graduate of Montgomery County Public Schools, Aaron earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park. He lives in Montgomery Village with his wife and son.
