Brewster Thackeray joined AOBA as Director of Communications in early 2019. He manages the Association's internal and external communications efforts, including our Inside newsletter and At Issue updates, social media, and the AOBA-metro.website, and works with leadership, staff, and members to hone and advance AOBA's messages.
Prior to joining AOBA, Brewster worked in association and nonprofit management at organizations that included AARP and the National Organization on Disability. Having earned his master's in communications at American University, he built his experience in that field as the communications director for the League of American Bicyclists and the American Trucking Associations' Maintenance Council. Coming to AOBA brings him full circle as his first communications job was with a boutique PR firm that represented some of the larger real estate holding companies in the Washington metropolitan area. Brewster has a BA in government from Hamilton College.
Brewster is based at AOBA's downtown DC headquarters. You can reach him at BThackeray@aoba-metro.org or 202/296-3390, extension 241.
