AOBA is pleased to announce that by popular demand we will once again be offering FREE Fire Protection Systems training to members with interests in Fairfax County. Working with the Fire Prevention Division in the Fairfax County Fire Marshal’s Office, AOBA will host two training sessions this Spring for property managers and building engineers focusing on troubleshooting and maintaining fire systems commonly found in commercial and multifamily buildings.  These highly reviewed programs serve not only to educate members, but to help them avoid pitfalls in local government inspections and save money in the process. And with the generous partnership of the Fairfax County Fire Marshal’s office, we are able to offer this opportunity to members at no cost. But be sure to sign up quickly as participation is limited and classes fill up fast.

The June 26 program will be geared towards engineers and maintenance staff. These sessions will provide a more advanced look at the common problems County inspectors encounter and which may occur with fire protections systems. Participants will then move to the County’s instruction lab, where they will move from station to station, each demonstrating a different potential problem that they will identify and then address in a hands-on manner, with County staff offering helpful tips and ideas as they go along.

Spaces are limited and sessions filled up quickly last year, so be sure to RSVP early for this unique opportunity!
