Golf Course Safety:

  • Playing in a safe environment: The health and safety of our guests, employees, members and local community is Lansdown's highest priority due to health concerns related to the Coronavirus. During your visit, the Lansdowne team members are committed to maintaining cleaning and personal protection protocols as recommended by our hospitality partners, the US Travel Association and the American Hotel & Lodging Association. These new protocols have been established in collaboration with Public Health Organizations including the US Department of Health & Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Learn more about Lansdowne's safety guidelines
  • All Activities Are Outside, except for spa services: This scenic view is yours to share before and after the golf tournament. Practice your putts on the putting green, warm up on the driving range, and enjoy some fresh breakfast before the tee times. After the tournament, join us for music, dinner, cornhole, and so much more, all at a social distance of course.
  • Food and Beverage Safely Managed by Catering by Catering Staff: There is nothing better than an ice-cold beverage on a warm sunny day. Beverage carts with chilled drinks will meet you throughout the day. Breakfast fruits and pastries will be served to you by the chef, lunches will be pre-packaged, and the reception will include chef stations serving delicious BBQ. The catering staff is securely and safely handling all food and beverage items with gloves and masks.
  • Micro-Engagement Opportunities: To limit the crowd size, micro-engagements will occur throughout the day. Sponsors will be at every tee so you can network with your favorite AOBA members. Tables will be spaced six feet apart. Bars will have floor spacing and protective shields.

About Lansdowne:

Lansdowne Resort and Spa is a sanctuary for golfers, an oasis for productive meetings and the perfect escape. Located on 500 beautiful acres overlooking the scenic Potomac River, Lansdowne offers guests the opportunity to disconnect from the world and reconnect with themselves. Our AAA Four Diamond award-winning golf resort features 45 holes of challenging championship golf designed by Greg Norman and Robert Trent Jones Jr., as well as myriad outdoor activities, a state-of-the-art spa and extensive meeting and dining facilities. We’re just 30 miles outside Washington, D.C. and 12 miles from Washington Dulles International Airport, so we’re easy to get to no matter your starting point.

Robert Trent Jones Jr. Course
A classic experience awaits both the accomplished and novice golfer on this 7,063-yard, par-72 course. The key to success on this course is the ability to accurately judge the impact of elevation changes. For example, the par-3 13th hole features a 50-foot drop from tee to green, requiring a carry over a creek that runs across the front of the green, as well as a stone wall that dates back to the 1700s.

This course provides mental challenges with risk-reward holes and a tee-to-green carry-over water on the par-3 17th, as well as physical tests with a pair of classic, three-shot par-5s. While friendly, the strategic layout will test the skills of all playing levels, rewarding each with a memorable round.

Greg Norman Course
Designed by the legendary Greg Norman, aka the Great White Shark, the Norman Course incorporates the natural undulations of the Potomac River Valley as it meanders along the Potomac River. The rolling landscape of the 7,332-yard par-72 golf course winds through a mature hardwood forest and along rock outcroppings. Those natural elements combine with historic sites on the 3rd and 4th holes to form the course's distinct character using Norman's "Least Disturbance Approach" to design. It also includes a demanding four-hole stretch dubbed “the hardest mile in golf” by its creator.

Capable of hosting a championship competition, the Norman Course remains enjoyable for everyday golfers, with tees that fit a multitude of skill levels, including the memorable "island tees'' on the par-4 1st hole. When the Norman Course first opened in 2005, Golf Magazine named it one of the "Top 10 New Courses You Can Play" in America. Today it remains one of the "Top 20 Greg Norman Courses You Can Play."
