In addition to the knowledge gained through education, property professionals in today’s world are required to meet more rigorous performance expectations in a rapidly evolving industry. To ensure the RPA Designation Program represents these changing needs, BOMI International has made the following changes to the RPA Designation curriculum, effective January 1, 2015.
Students who enroll in the RPA Designation Program are required to demonstrate three years of verifiable property management experience or equivalent. The experience must be performed for a portfolio or building 50,000 square feet or larger. Work-related experience must include responsibility in 24 of the 35 criteria outlined in the outlined in the revised Experience Requirement criteria verification form.
The changes to the requirement extends the credibility of the RPA Designation for the thousands of industry professionals and employers who rely on BOMI International to deliver high-quality education programs that advance careers and add value to organizations.
As of January 1, 2015, BOMI International will be retiring the Fundamentals of Real Property Administration course. The RPA Designation Program will continue to call for completion of seven required courses and one elective course.
